MODSAC

Movement of Design: Sacramento

Last weekend was the first ever MODSAC event.  I had the opportunity to create a cake for the event- to be shared by the other participating artists.  I attempted to capture the design from the event flyer.  This is probably my favorite design thus far.  Although, every new cake is my new-favorite =)

I strongly encourage you to check out their website for more information about our local artists and upcoming events.

Construction Process: Crumb coating chocolate cake with peanut butter filling.

Extra tall cake (about 6" high!) = lots of turquoise buttercream
Vanilla cake with apricot and honey buttercream filling.  One of my favorite flavor combinations.

Nice and smooth!!

Close up of "backwards" butterflies and sugar flowers
I like to think that the butterflies are still in flight, as opposed to landing on their backs.

Final Product:
All flowers and decorations are hand-crafted out of sugar paste.

Be sure to check blog soon for pictures of my most recent cake for participating artists of UnitedState DJ/Clothing Boutique!!
